With step sequencing, up to 16 midi notes can be defined and played back interactively using buttons, sliders and swipes. It therefore lends itself to more experimental style of music making as steps can have all manner of variations – pitch, velocity, length, midi channel, swing, % probability(note or velocity) and musical ornaments such as ratchetting and mordents.
With the addition of chords, each step can also send out up to 128 note chords. You can create your own chords by using a on-screen keyboard or pick common ones such as the dim7.
MidiSequencer also offers extreme tempos (from 1 to 1020BPM) and a variety of Master/Slave combinations utilising midi clocks.
